Gathered Clutch

I made this adorable gathered clutch yesterday. The tutorial is compliments of Noodlehead blog. I used left over materials from the Big Girls Bumper and scraps from hemming jeans for the hubby. I realize I should have made a more narrow denim band so that more of the ruffle can be seen. I do love this an anticipate making more in the near future for gifts.

Little Mermaid

My completed market skirt.  I ran out of 1' elastic so used 3/4" instead...it gathers a little funky on the waist line.  I think its ok tho, no one's really going to see it.  I think I made it a little big too.  I followed directions for 2-3T and my little girl is petite, so she might be wearing this for a while.

Seams to Me

I'm working on my first project on my serger. I'm making a summer skirt from the left over mermaid fabric. This one will have professional looking finished edges since I'm serging it. I actually had both the sewing machine and serger out on the work table, hopping back and forth between them. Makes me wish I had a sewing room.

Big Girl's Bumper

Sometimes even a big girl needs bumper pads. The little Piggie is moving into her day bed. The iron rails have proven to be a challenge for her. She still bumps her head on it at night in her sleep. Using Nu Foam bumper pads that can be purchased at Joann's (I used the weekly 40% off coupon and paid $16+).
There's simple instructions included in the package. I didn't follow them. I just eyeballed about 1 inch seams and sewed around with 1/2 inch seam. I made ties with my bias tape maker (my first time using it and wish I had it when I made the little man's bumper!)

Mommy Calling Cards

I can't remember how I stumbled across sarah + abraham's website to order these mommy calling cards.  As soon as I do, I'll make sure I give them credit to sharing such an awesome website (it was Made By Rae).  There's all kids of goodies.  I've also ordered a personalized water bottle from them.  I adore the Olliegraphic work by Meg.  You can order from a list of pre-made customization features or email Meg directly to get something completely personalized.  Once she's sent over the design, you can order from sarah + abraham to have it printed on whatever your heart desires...cards, stationary, notepads, water bottles!
